PS3 dominates competitors in Japan
Gamers, Main, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony June 21st, 2008According to the latest Media Create hardware sales numbers for the week of June 8, the
PlayStation 3 outsold both the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii consoles, pushing a total of 75,311 units.
Using the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 as a catalyst, the PS3 climbed the charts to the glorious number one spot. The PlayStation Portable came in second with a total of 64,675 units sold.
The full breakdown is as follows:
1. PlayStation 3: 75,311
2. PlayStation Portable: 64,675
3. Nintendo Wii: 64,675
4. Nintendo DS: 39,201
5. PlayStation 2: 7,297
