Do you like Safari on Windows? Wish it was Faster?
Main, Software June 20th, 2007I ask you this, Do you like Safari for Windows, but it is just too slow? Well I have figured out how to make Safari render faster. If you make a simple change to a file you can have your safari faster in no time.
Safari has to be closed. It can not be open for this modification to work.

Step One: Go to “C:\Program Files\Safari\Safari.resources”
Step Two: Open up Defaults.plist with notepad.
Step Three: Add this line at the end:
<key>WebKitInitialTimedLayoutDelay</key> <real>0.25</real>
Step Four: Save and close notepad. Close the folder and open Safari. You should see a speed difference now.
Thanks to Jase for this improvment.

This preference key doesn’t actually do anything and hasn’t for a long time. See http://webkit.org/blog/94/amusing/
